Sariska
National Park (near
Alwar) is situated
in the state of
Rajasthan in the
backdrop of the
Aravali Hills. This
park, which is quite
near to Rajasthan's
capital Jaipur, was
declared a sanctuary
in 1955. It came
under the Project
Tiger in 1979 and
became a national
park in 1982. The
park boasts of a
quite a few tigers
and other
interesting flora
and fauna. There are
also historical
ruins and monuments
within Sariska's
confines that are
symbolic of its
past.

The best way to visit
the Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary is by Jeep and
these can be arranged at the Forest Reception
Office on the Jaipur Road. Booking an
inconspicuous 'hide', overlooking one of the
waterholes, can provide an excellent opportunity
for wildlife viewing and wildlife photography.
Alwar
:: The
nearest city, also have much to offer, you can
just go and try the restaurants & the markets
or can visit interesting places like the Alwar
fort & City Palace, Vijai Mandir Palace, Vinay
Vilas Palace, Purjan Vihar, Tomb of Fateh Jung,
Jaisamand Lake.

Just 13kms from Alwar, its a must visit place, it
has a lovely lake surrounded by a ring of
mountains. The palace on the banks of the lake was
the hunting lodge for the royal people, now
converted into a Govt. hotel. The lake has a
wonderful view of the Aravalli, you can also enjoy
the boat riding, the lake shore is best for
picnics.
Best
Time To Visit :
Sariska
is open to visitors throughout the year, although
certain jungle tracks are closed during the
monsoon and the breeding season. The best time to
visit the park is late in the winter around
January or February. If you don't mind the heat,
April to June is a great time to see animals at
the waterholes.
